Rs 20 lakh loot case: Police remain clueless

The loot case had kept the police administration in a tight spot and this big loot has posed a challenge to the police personnel. Earlier in 1997, the miscreants had looted Rs 25 lakh from an industrialist Om Prakash Jalan.
So far, the police had failed to work out any loot case that took place under various police stations in last five year which has boosted the morale of miscreants.
In year 2001, the miscreants looted Rs 7.5 lakh from an employee of United Tractor under Cantonment police station, while on October 12, 2000, three armed miscreants looted Rs 11 lakh at HN Singh crossing under Shahpur police station.
On October 29, 2005 miscreants have looted Rs 16 lakh at Gandhi lane under Kotwali police station in board daylight.
Police failed to arrest any miscreant in this incident of loot.
Meanwhile, all the police station were alarmed by senior police officials and three teams have been constituted by SSP Raja Srivastav to work out the case.
Police launched intensive checking of vehicles and despite whole night operations, they failed to get any clues in the loot case.
It was noteworthy that the miscreant have looted Rs 20 lakh at gunpoint from the two employees of a Chandigarh based company running real estate business at Shahi Market on Wednesday.
Police had arrested Ramakant Chauhan an employee of the company and interrogating them.
The incident had taken place when the employees were going to deposit the amount on their motorcycle in Punjab National Bank at Kunraghat.
