Rs 6.35 lakh looted in Deoria

MOTORCYCLE-BORNE miscreants looted Rs 6.35 lakh from employees of Sahara India Finance Company on Saturday. The employees were on their way to deposit cash at the Bank of Baroda branch, in Deoria district, when the incident took place. Avdesh Kumar Yadav was driving the car and Shafiullah Khan and peon Dayaram were with him.

The car stopped at at Katra near Amar Jyoti crossing. Daya Ram came out of the car and two armed miscreants, who were waiting for them, snatched a bag at gunpoint. The driver and the clerk Shafiullah tried to chase the miscreants, but they opened fire and fled.

Police registered a case on an application by a sector officer of Sahara Finance and started investigations, but they failed to find any clues.
