Rs 6.57 crore for BMC work

THE BHOPAL Municipal Corporation (BMC) received the biggest share ? Rs 6.57 crore ? in the funds allotted by the State Government to the urban bodies of the flood-hit cities in the State. Most of the areas in the State capital were worst hit due to water-logging in the wake of excessive rains this year.

THE BHOPAL Municipal Corporation (BMC) received the biggest share — Rs 6.57 crore — in the funds allotted by the State Government to the urban bodies of the flood-hit cities in the State. Most of the areas in the State capital were worst hit due to water-logging in the wake of excessive rains this year.

The fund allotment was made after the Union Government revised the estimate of work in the flood-hit areas. The State Government allotted Rs 8.78 crore to 44 urban bodies through district collectors.

The Ujjain Municipal Corporation received Rs 27 lakh and the Ratlam Municipal Corporation Rs 24.40 lakh. Public and private property worth over Rs 100 crore in Bhopal suffered damage.
