Under the Right To Information Act, some such applications have been received through which applicants have sought information about the cases pending against the Public Information Officer or Appellate Authority who have been appointed to dispose off the cases under the Act.

It was felt that the decision to be taken in such cases by the concerning authority will be against the principle of natural justice.

The Department of General Administration (GAD) with a view to implementing the Right To Information Act effectively has thus issued instructions to all the departments to nominate another officer of the institution equivalent to the concerned authorities to dispose such cases.
