Indian captain Rahul Dravid and vice captain Virendra Sehwag, however, have slipped one place each to be fourth and fifth on the ladder.

Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq has climbed five steps to be third in the list after his superb twin hundreds in the Faisalabad Test against England as South African Jacques Kallis and Australian captain Ricky Ponting guarded their top two positions respectively.

Inzamam, who is only the fifth Pakistan player to score two hundreds in the same Test and is also now his country's leading centurion with 24 Test hundreds, stands at career-best 853 points.

The Faisalabad Test's other hundred-makers, England's Kevin Pietersen and Ian Bell, have also made upward movements in the ranking order.
