Sacrifice Day of Sikh Guru observed

A SERIES of religious function were organised to mark the 400th Sacrifice Day of fifth Guru of Sikh Religion, Guru Arjan Dev Ji, in Varanasi on Wednesday. As part of the Sacrifice Day celebrations, a large number of devotees took out a Prabhat Pheri from Lajpat Nagar, which after passing from Shashtri Nagar, Sigra and Rathyatra culminated at Gurudwara in Gurubagh area in the morning.

As part of the Sacrifice Day celebrations, a large number of devotees took out a Prabhat Pheri from Lajpat Nagar, which after passing from Shashtri Nagar, Sigra and Rathyatra culminated at Gurudwara in Gurubagh area in the morning.

Devotees recited Guru Granth Sahib and participated in ‘langar’ to mark the occasion. Bhai Iqbal Singh of Himachal Pradesh recited devotional songs whereas Dr. Harnam Singh Shaan of Chandigarh told the devotees about Guru Arjan Dev Ji.

Divisional Commissioner, CN Dubey was among other thousands of devotees, who participated in the ‘langar’ at Gurudwara in Gurubagh area today. Several religious functions were also organised at Gurudwara in the evening.
