The trial of Saddam Hussein was on Wednesday adjourned until December 21, the presiding judge announced.
Two witnesses gave harrowing testimony and were cross-examined by lawyers before the session was adjourned.
The landmark trial had been expected to be postponed after the Wednesday hearing to allow Iraq to concentrate on general elections on December 15.
