The "Tezaab" director was seriously considering relocating to Hollywood soon after he started work on "A Woman From Georgia", but he has clearly not given up entirely on Bollywood yet, reports Bollywood Trade.

"I will start work on the two projects once I wrap up the shooting of 'A Woman From Georgia'," Chandra says, adding that he has already finished shooting 60 percent of the film in Orissa.

The Rs.140-million film is based on a short story about a girl who committed sati 120 years ago and is reborn in a Western country. The film is being produced by

US-based NRI Solila Parida. It stars Hollywood actors Phillip Rhys and Susan May Pratt.

Distributors become producers

Several veteran distributors are looking at production as a lucrative business option thanks to the risk factor and fluctuating fortunes, reports Bollywood Trade.

And it is the turn of J.P. Choksey after Farhad Nathani, who signed Ajit Pal to direct a film, and Delhi distributor Tolu Bajaj, who makes his production foray with son Sachin Bajaj's directorial debut.

Choksey has signed director Tanvir Khan to direct the first film for his banner, Prachi Films. The film is a thriller and Choksey is currently said to be finalising the lead pair for the film.

Choksey, who has also written the scripts of a few films, admits that he had been considering the idea of getting into production for a long time now. "However, I was waiting for the right time and the right subject to make a beginning."

'Nazar' has some great special effects

The controversial kissing scene in "Nazar" may well have generated an extraordinary pre-release hype, but there is much more to the film - its very special special effects.

Special effects expert Wilson Louis, who worked on the film, says he liked the way it was shot, reports Bollywood Trade.

"It has a very intriguing story-line, which keeps you riveted on the screen. The film revolves around the story of a woman who can foresee things well in advance, which is where the special effects come into place." Louis reveals.

So what did he feel about Pakistani actress Meera's controversial kissing scene? "Nothing controversial about it. In fact, it gave the impression of being a natural sequence in the film," he said.

Louis is now directing an episodic thriller for Zee titled "Rooh". His directorial debut "Ho Sakta Hai" is likely to be released towards the end of May.
