DUE TO dearth of scripts, producers are not willing to take chances and as a result, re-make of movies has become a trend in Bollywood. These were the words of Javed Akhtar, as he spoke to newspersons here on Sunday.

Incidentally, Akhtar is writing the script of a forthcoming movie, ‘Don’, which is a re-make of earlier Big B starrer. The movie is being directed by his son, Farhan Akhtar. Akhtar said, “The theme of the story will be the same as the original and only minor changes have been made to the script. “ About the songs of the movie, Akhtar informed that two songs would be new, while rest of the songs in the movie would be from the old Don.

“But re-make of an old movie is no easy task for producers, when lot of money is at stake,” added Akhtar.

Commenting on the video albums of remix songs, Akhtar said,”Nude models dancing to old melodious songs of Mukesh and Mohammed Rafi has become a trend and only masses can check this growing menace.”

Earlier, while speaking at a function organised by Rotary Club, at Lajpat Bhawan, Akhtar exhorted women to strive for their rights and compete with men.
