Satara boy tops SSC with 97.84 per cent

Gaurav Kulkarni of Satara's New English School, Kolhapur division, stood first by securing 97.84 per cent in the SSC examinations held in Maharashtra.
The overall pass percentage this year stood at 86.33 per cent.
In Mumbai division, Pratik Ramdasi from Dombivali and Madhura Naik from Badalapur suburb stood first with 96.61 per cent.
Out of the total 15,86,017 students appeared for the exam this year in the state and 12,51,566 students succeeded, divisional Secretary Vinay Dakshindas said.
Girls have outscored boys this year with total passing percentage of girls being 87.41 while that of boys being 85.43 per cent, he added.
The overall pass percentage of candidates in Pune division is 87.89 per cent while Kolhapur has 85.97 per cent, Amravati 87.37 per cent, Nagpur 78.84 per cent, Latur 97.94 per cent, Nashik 88.07 per cent, Aurangabad 89.45 per cent.
The other toppers of Mumbai division include Borivali's Chogale High School's Snehal Gite from Backward class with 95.23 per cent.
Among night school candidates, Manojkumar Singh of R K Hindi Night High School scored 86.15 per cent while Dadar's Balmohan Vidya Mandir's Manali Naik scored 96.46 per cent among the handicapped candidates.
