Talking to newsmen after the inauguration of the postal department's scheme - ‘Arrow’ - on Sunday, Scindia said the scheme would be launched initially in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata and later extended to other cities.

The scheme will allow mobile subscribers the option to retain the same number even after switching over to other telecom service provider.

The telecom department proposes to involve foreign direct investment (FDI) in the scheme.

Aimed at enhancing postal services in post offices across the country, the scheme is being launched in 50 post offices, including six in Madhya Pradesh.
