When Julie Andrews sings Raindrops and roses, whiskers and kittens.. with the kids in The Sound of Music, even I long to sing along, These are a few of my favourite things.

One of my favourite pastimes is watching a toddler trying to take his first steps. He falls down, gets up and tries again.. and again.. till he reaches his goal. It gives out the message, ‘Don’t quit’. Many believe that this is the mantra for success.

Down memory lane
I’m a college professor. When I pass by the ladies’ common room, it feels good to listen to my teenaged students giggling.

It’s an instant trip down memory lane. We used to be a group of seven in college and were called the Seven Musketeers. We used to hang out together in the college campus and chat and laugh. Whenever I recall those days, they bring back a feeling of nostalgia. I really cherish them.

Over the years, I developed the habit of cutting out reports of various events from newspapers. I still treasure them and look them up every time I feel low. Some of them seem irrelevant to the present, but I still love to read them and reminisce about the past. It makes me feel happy.
