Body of the priest, Sanghraj Thairo, is to be brought back to Deonar for the funeral today.

Police had initially registered a case of suicide after a 75-year-old priest was found dead on January six at his residence here.

Following public outcry, the police registered a case of murder.

Meanwhile, more than 50 persons were arrested all across the city in connection with the protest, police said.

Sporadic incidents of protest, including stone pelting and blocking of roads were reported in the eastern and western suburbs of Deonar yesterday, they said.
