Sensex rebounds to end higher, gains 129 pts

The 30-share sensitive index drops by 173 points at 9,913 in first five minutes of trading while Nifty falls by 54.80 pts.
The stock market benchmark Sensex weathered the depression seen in early trading and bounced back above the 10,000 points level to end higher by 129.46 points at 10,215.37.
The 30-share Sensitive Index, which had lost 210.56 points at the outset, recovered sharply on revival of buying by mutual funds.

Similarly, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty closed higher by 40.85 points at 2785.95, after touching a low of 2878.25.
