Sex racket busted; girls and customers held

THE CRIME Branch today busted a major sex racket that was going on for the past three years at House No 92 B in Scheme No 71. Police arrested nine girls and 10 customers from the house.
The kingpin of the racket Mahendra Sugandhi, his wife, Chhaya and their daughter Bulbul (19) were also involved in the racket.
According to DSP-Crime Anil Mishra, they had been receiving information that flesh trade was going on in the house. The house was owned by one Suresh Jhanwar, who had rented it out to Sugandhi, who ran his operations from there. Police kept watch on the house for a couple of days and saw that the maximum number of clients came between 1 pm and 5 pm.
Today the Crime Branch team kept watch on the house since afternoon and watched as customers started trickling in. They raided the place at around 5.30 pm and caught them red-handed.
Police seized 10 mobile phones and condoms from the girls and the customers. Even after the girls were arrested, their mobiles kept ringing with customers soliciting their services. Some so-called influential persons also called up on behalf of the call girls.
The arrested women are Chhaya (45), her daughter Bulbul (19), Golu Qureshi (16), Ranu (19) (resident of Gwalior), Uma (22), Nazia (32), Rani (24) and Jotysna (22).
The arrested men are Mahendra (50), Kailash (22), Virendra (29), Uma Shankar (36), Sunl (18), Subhash (18), Rakesh (32), Anil Sharma (26), Vijay (32) and Jagdish (40). Some of the girls and the young men were crying and claiming that they were innocent. Police said they were verifying the addresses and names given by the girls and customers.
