AN INDEPENDENT team of experts from Shri Govindram Sakseria Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS) inspected the upper floors of the Treasure Island to verify whether these conformed to the allocated site plan.

The team led by Professor S Humad, carried out measurements of built up and carpet areas of the top four stories of the upmarket mall at MG Road. The team is expected to submit a report of its findings within a fortnight.

SGITS team members had earlier given a clean chit to the upper and lower basements as well as the ground and first floor of Treasure Island. The team of outside experts was roped in by Municipal Commissioner P Narhari after residents of the neighbouring Tukoganj locality levelled allegations of large-scale building permission irregularities and civic infrastructure overload.

City Engineer (Building Permission) Harbhajan Singh, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Suresh Belia as well as an IMC assistant engineer, the concerned building officer and several building inspectors were also present during the three-hour long inspection.
