Shane Bond was introduced as a fast-bowler in the Australian Test cricket tour of 2001-02. He has won the respects of the best batsmen for his fast, in-swinging yoker.
He eventually became the quickest Kiwi to reach 50 one-day international wickets, which includes a national best of 6 for 22 against Australia in World Cup 2003.
However injuries forced him out of cricket till the 2004 England tour, though he had to fly back home following a back injury.
