STATING THAT Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan preferred to skip all the points raised by him challenging the Chief Minister’s claim of corruption-free administration in the State during the BJP regime in his reply to debate on Governor’s address in the State Assembly, All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Digvijay Singh today said that Chouhan should have apprised the House about his position vis-a-vis specific questions raised by him in his speech on Governor’s address.

Singh had opened debate on Governor’s address on behalf of the Opposition. In a letter written to Chouhan, copies of which were released to the Press today, Singh, while seeking forgiveness for absence from the House during the Chief Minister’s speech, said that though the Chief Minister focused his entire speech on him, still he did not reply to a single point raised by him to challenge the Chief Minister’s claim of corruption-free administration in the State.

He hoped that the Chief Minister would apprise the House on these issue: whether he intends to table inquiry report on poor construction and expenditure beyond sanction during Simhastha in the House? Why the inquiry report on Indore pension scam was not tabled in the House?

What is the status of investigation into petroleum scam in Indore, which his predecessor Babulal Gaur had announced to hand over to the CBI? Why the tradition of tabling details of property owned by the Chief Minister and ministers followed during his stint was forsaken by the BJP Government? And whether he intends to start doing it?

Singh said that the Chief Minister might not have remembered these points during his reply but he should apprise the people about his stand on them if he were serious towards providing them corruption-free administration.

Why the tradition of tabling details of property owned by the chief minister and ministers followed during his stint was forsaken by the BJP government?
