Yes, Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has got specially designed bowling boots made for himself in order to avoid the frequent ankle injuries from which he had been regularly suffering over the past couple of years.
At any given point of time, he carries as many as five pairs of shoes with him whether playing Test or an ODI, The News reported.
The fast bowler has been facing problems in the landing zone and with his ankle. He is currently playing with a bruised ankle caused by the heavy load and pressure he puts on his feet in his follow through which is why the special boots have been designed to ensure he does not face a serious fitness problem.
Shoaib played in the one-day series against England with a bruised ankle, which is strapped regularly to ensure it does not get worse, it added.
He made a comeback to the Pakistan team with a big bang against England taking 17 Test wickets.
