Show cause notices to jail supdt, doctor
CHIEF JUDICIAL Magistrate of Ghazipur Pramod Kumar has issued show cause notices to jail superintendent and doctor for not producing jailed MLA of Mau Mukhtar Ansari, Samajwadi Party MP Afzal Ansari and their brother-in-law Ejaz Ansari in court on Friday for hearing on police remand in connection with murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai and six others in Mohammadabad on November 29 last year.
CHIEF JUDICIAL Magistrate of Ghazipur Pramod Kumar has issued show cause notices to jail superintendent and doctor for not producing jailed MLA of Mau Mukhtar Ansari, Samajwadi Party MP Afzal Ansari and their brother-in-law Ejaz Ansari in court on Friday for hearing on police remand in connection with murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai and six others in Mohammadabad on November 29 last year.
Meanwhile, Sessions Judge VK Srivastava rejected the bail application of jailed Mukhtar Ansari in the same case.
It may be noted that the lawyers of these accused had been informing the court about illness of their clients and the accused were supposed to be produced in court on Friday in connection with hearing of police remand.
However, an application written by the jail superintendent was moved in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) on Friday that the accused were ill.
Acting on the application, the CJM ordered the jail superintendent to appear in the court personally on April 5 to make it clear why he was not producing the accused in court without any solid and authentic reason.
He has also ordered him to produce accused Afzal and Ejaz on April 5 and Mukhtar in court on April 13.
It may be noted that the BJP MLA, along with six others, had been shot dead when motorcycle-borne miscreants equipped with AK 47 had attacked his cavalcade in Mohamadabad area of Ghazipur while he was going to inaugurate a cricket match on November 29. The BJP had launched a massive stir to protest the murder of its MLA.
