Six city boys clear National Talent Search examination

SIX STUDENTS made the city proud by clearing the National Talent Search - 2006 examination organised by the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi. Six students under general category from different schools of the city were selected in the NTS-2006 results that was declared recently.

NCERT conducts NTS examination every year and Indian students of class X from the country and abroad take part in the examination which is conducted in three stages. The first stage examination is conducted at state level and 4000 students are selected for the main examinations from across the country. India-born students living in other countries are allowed to directly appear for the main examination. The main examination has two parts including mental ability test and educational ability test. Around 2000 students are selected according to merit for the interview in the final stage. The merit list is prepared upon the marks secured in the main examination which is of 200 marks and interview which is of 25 marks.

A total of 2000 students from India and abroad are selected for the scholarship which continues from class XI to Ph.D level. Six students have won the prestigious scholarship from Allahabad this year including Akash Singh of Holy Trinity School, Ankit Awasthi and Udbhav Kumar Singh both from Boys High School, Kovid Kapoor of Saint Joseph’s college besides Rishabh and Shubham Verma from Jagat Taran Golden Jubilee School.
