Six killed, 12 injured in mishap in Vadodara

Vadodara is rocked again by a road accident and this time six persons have died and 12 are injured.

Six persons died and 12 others were injured when the jeep they were travelling in collided with a truck near Shihore in the district, police said on Friday.

The victims were returning to Kachhala village after attending a function in Dhari village of neighbouring Panchmahal district when the mishap occurred on Savli-Timba road on Thursday night, they said.

Five persons died on the spot while one succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital, police said.

This was the second major road mishap reported from the central part of the state since Thursday. In the earlier incident, 11 persons had lost their lives when the autorickshaw they were travelling hit a truck in Vasda village of Kaira district.
