According to the police, the case was registered on Friday on the complaint of Shantanu Oberoi, the victim, under Information Technology Act.

The victim also accused some employees of a cellular company of deleting the call records in order to destroy evidence.

The accused had been threatening the executive since July.

As the police had refused to file a first information report, the executive had moved the court and on the direction of the court the case was registered in the Sushant Lok police station.

The resident of Sujjan Vihar (Sector 43) had been receiving threatening calls from various mobile numbers. "I have been receiving death treats since July and some people were stalking me with an intention to eliminate me," said Oberoi.

According to Oberoi, the callers were well-connected and had details of his family members with them.

Inspector Hari Om said, "We have filed the case under various sections of the IT Act and an investigation is on in the case."
