Sleuths trash doubts on Linda

REMEMBER LINDA? Not Goodman but Amen. Yes! It’s the same American lady who fell in love with India, landed up in Kanpur and ended up in the Ursula Horsman Hospital. What was worse, some sections of the media raised doubts on her credentials, which were ‘rubbished’ by sleuths here.
The update on her is she is fine and was discharged from hospital today. A police team has also been deputed to escort her to New Delhi by the Shramshakti Express today itself.
Interestingly, even after she was discharged, Linda requested doctors to keep her back as she still had some problems. Chief Medical Superintendent Ishwar Sharan corroborated the fact while talking to the ‘Hindustan Times’ over phone.
Dr Saran said after re-examining Linda, it was decided to discharge her and the problems were not serious.
However, her woes continue to plague her. Her visiting visa expired on December 25, 2005 and has not yet been extended. Though she had applied for it much earlier, her credentials are being questioned.
To add to it, she had managed to lose her passport and the number on the new passport did not match the earlier one.
However, a senior intelligence sleuth talking to the ‘Hindustan Times’, confirmed that nothing doubtful was found regarding her stay in the country, as was being speculated by a section of the Press. Some newspapers had dubbed her a spy.
He also said the reference to the missing passport was very much endorsed on her new passport, which she had got from the American Embassy at New Delhi.
He said everything had been verified and the Ministry of Home Affairs was informed about her stay at Kanpur. He said the ministry had also been informed that she was undergoing treatment at the UHM Hospital for a stomach ailment.
He also confirmed that the UHM Hospital had discharged her today following improvement in her condition.
The sleuths also said that Linda would be handed over to Ministry of Home Affairs, which would further take care of her in New Delhi.
He said the American Embassy had also been informed about Linda’s stay in Kanpur.
