Sofia Coppola
Lost In Translation |
Daughter of famous director, Francis Ford Coppola, Sofia is blessed with cinematic genes, one could say. Known for her dream-like visual sense and evocative style of narration, she first came into limelight on her own with her first movie "The Virgin Suicides".
If the tone was set by her debut film, "Lost in Translation", takes a step further. The drama unfolds in Tokyo where two Americans, bored and tired of jet lag bump into each other and rediscover themselves. One is a middle-aged actor and the other is a bored wife.
A beautiful study of isolation and loneliness, this film is a very strong contender for the top spot.
