Sohail Khan is a self-confessed selfish individual.

“That is why I’m associated with the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) as it is a platform which attracts talented people from all spheres of filmmaking. As I’m a producer/director/ script writer and actor, I’m keen on scouting for new talent, especially in the technical and editing fields,” he says.

Sohail, who was in town as part of the IFFI promotion, rues that though Bollywood is the biggest film industry in the world, “it continues to live under the shadows of Cannes and Toronto.”

Work ahead:
While his film Aryan continues to be on the delayed list, (Sohail is hopeful of its December release), he has other films too to look forward to — Salaam-E-Ishq and God Tussi Great Ho.

As producer, his next film is Partner, featuring brother Salman. “My line up is interesting. While I play a boxer in Aryan, Salaam-E-Ishq and God… are both romantic films.”

Family man:
Sohail loves talking about his family “It’s great to be a part of such a big family I just love spending time with them all — my wife, son, brothers and sisters.” He looks for healthy relationship with his film unit members also. He says, “It is important as it adds so much to the final product.”

His wife Seema was part of the just-concluded Fashion Week in Mumbai and was in the news for a near malfunction on her ramp. “Seema is too good to resort to such cheap thrills for publicity,” says the doting husband.
