"This is for the first time that a Council's budget had been clubbed with that of PMO even though the Prime Minister is not heading it... There is a limit to sycophancy," said BJP Chief Whip VK Malhotra while initiating the discussion on the 2004-05 General Budget.
Claiming that the move has belittled the office of the Prime Minister, who is a puppet PM, Malhotra asked "what has she (Gandhi) got to do with PMO? It only gives the message that she is super PM".
The BJP leader said the PMO allocation has been increased by Rs 2.5 crore to incorporate the money earmarked for the Council, which has been set up to oversee the implementation of the UPA Government's Common Minimum Programme.
