Continuing his tirade against the Congress, Yadav said the pro-American approach of the Union government would create hindrance in promotion of the cottage and rural industry to attain the objective of self-reliance in economic field.

Focusing on the significance of February 21 for the rally, he said in 2003 the then State government had ordered lathi charge on SP activists who were demonstrating against the government. Terming the day as a blot in the history of democracy, he said the cycle yatra had been proposed in the direction of SP MP Akhilesh Yadav.

The rally would start on February 21 and continue till February 26, he added.
Meanwhile, preparation for the cycle rally has been completed and around 100 SP activists will visit remote areas to highlight the budget proposals of Mulayam Singh Yadav government.
