He appealed to the people to ensure the victory of SP candidate Sitaram Jaiswal in mayoral election. Talking to media persons, Mohsin said in assembly by-election at Kauriram and in zila panchayat election, the SP candidates registered victory defeating the joint candidates of the saffron brigade.

He expressed the hope that in the municipal corporation election, too, the SP would win with big margin. Mohsin also said the welfare-related decisions, taken by the Mulayam Singh Yadav-led government, helped the party expand its vote bank. Replying to a question, Mohsin said the civic election would be a rehearsal before the assembly poll.

He also said chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav directed the senior party leaders to ensure the victory of the SP candidates.
