Participating in the ZAK Garmentech International 2004 would certainly have been an enriching experience for the student-designers of JD institute of Fashion Technology, only if the show held at Pragati Maidan’s Hall number 11B was organised better.

The students of JD Institute of Fashion Design had a great platform to display their creativity.

The show began two and a half-hours late, but the collections showcased by the students had some wearable designs. The show had many gate crashers. In fact the stage was so crowded from both sides that it was very difficult for visitors to catch a glimpse of the collections on stage. One couldn’t even see the faces of the models.

The collection was titled, Dialogue With Nature. “We decided to do something different, students were asked to click pictures of anything that they found interesting in nature and base their collection on one chosen theme,” said R. C. Dalal, President of JD Institute of Fashion Technology. “We had Kavita Bhartia, Vidhi Singhania, Ranna Gill, Shahnaz Hussain and Sylvie as our jury,” he added.
Students from eight centres of the JDIFT participated in the show and about 49 collections were showcased.
