According to eyewitnesses, the youth — Mukesh Kumar — was dragged a few meters by the truck.

The victim is a resident of Lado Sarai, Delhi.

The police said the youth died on the spot. The incident took place around 2.25 pm in the service lane of expressway near the sector 30 flyover.

The truck driver fled the spot but was caught by people, who later handed him over to the police. A case of rash and negligent driving causing death was registered against the driver.

"After hitting the bike, the youth lost his balance and fell on the road. The rear wheels of the truck ran over the victim, killing him instantly. Seeing him speeding his truck, I intercepted him at a distance. With the help of locals, we caught the driver and cleaner and handed them over to the police," said a motorist.

Of late, the Gurgaon expressway has been witnessing a rise in accidents caused due to rash driving by truck drivers.
Efforts by the police have failed to tame 'rouge drivers'.

Slow-moving vehicles plying in fast lanes of the expressway have been contributing to the rise in accidents.
