ALARMED AT the spurt in robberies in the district, Superintendent of Police Anant Kumar Singh has directed CSPs and Station Officers to stay at police stations.
At a meeting of all CSPs and Station Officers at the Police Control Room, Singh on Sunday directed them to spend maximum hours at the police station.
He said, officials would not go home at night and would have to sleep at the police station itself. They would be allowed to go home for meals though.
The aim is that the entire staff at the police station should remain on its toes and in case of any information CSPs and SOs can swing into action promptly.
Meanwhile, MP Police Karmachari Sahyog Sangh (MPPKSS) has decided to send 10,000 letters to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan regarding grievances of policemen.
MPPKSS president Javed Iqbal said police personnel put their life at risk and worked to ensure the security and safety of common citizens but their grievances were not redressed.
“As policemen are tied to norms of service, they cannot protest and raise their demands,” he said. He said the letters would urge Chouhan to redress problems that policemen face. “This will boost the morale of force and in turn improve their performance,” he added.
