Audiences in Bihar and South India have every reason to cheer as Hollywood film Spiderman 3 is ready for release in Bhojpuri, Tamil, Telugu along with Hindi and English on May 4 as Percept Picture Company (PPC) forays into Hollywood and Bollywood distribution with the release of the film globally.
PPC's CEO, Preet Bedi said, "This is the first time that a Hollywood film will be dubbed and released in regional languages on the same day as the worldwide release."
He attributed the release of the film in regional languages to the additional market.
"We see that every month atleast two movies are released in Bhojpuri, which shows that there is a market for Bhojpuri films,' he said.
The company has acquired the theatrical distribution rights in English and Hindi for all territories in India, excluding the four southern states, he said. Sony Pictures will distribute the film directly to the Southern territory, Mr Bedi said.
"We have allocated USD 2 million for infrastructure development and acquisition for our distribution business and we plan to distribute and market highly renowned global cinema in India," the company's Director-distribution and IPR Management, Ashok Ahuja said.
