Spirited bride dumps drunk groom
A 20-year-old bride from Giridih district of Jharkhand walked out of the wedding mandap in a huff halfway through the rituals once she discovered that the groom was drunk. Pravin Kumar Mishra reports.
A 20-year-old bride from Giridih district of Jharkhand walked out of the wedding mandap in a huff halfway through the rituals once she discovered that the groom was drunk.
That is not all. The bride’s family and the rest of the villagers backed her decision and in the end, the groom and his family were practically chased out of the place.
“We have never seen such a badly behaved groom. As soon as he entered the wedding venue, he started using abusive words. He also got into a scuffle with senior members of our family,” said the bride’s elder brother, Santosh Thakur.
By the time the rituals started, the bride also noticed the strange behavior and refused to proceed with the garland exchange ceremony.
The Bagodar police station officer in-charge Satish Kumar confirmed the incident but added that no FIR was lodged by either of the parties in this connection.
