Official sources said that traffic on Srinagar-Leh national highway has been closed due to landslides in Zojila pass area.

A large number of vehicles, including those carrying essentials for Ladakh region are stranded on the highway.

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO), responsible for maintenance of the highway, has pressed into service sophisticated machines and men to put through the highway.

However, there was more danger of avalanches as intermittent rain continued.
