Film actor Anandaraj on Monday announced that he would support BJP at the Lok Sabha poll in Pondicherry.

He told a press conference here that from the talks he had with people here he could understand that they were keen that the PMK should be defeated. He said that he was consulting his legal advisers to seek judicial remedy to have his name included in the voters' list in Pondicherry.

He said presently he found that his name had been deleted on the ground that he was not a regular resident of Pondicherry. He further said Anbumani, son of PMK leader Dr S Ramadoss, who, he said, was not a regular resident of Pondicherry, was issued family ration card in Pondicherry. If this was true, he said, the government should withdraw it as that would only enable him to have his (Anbumani's) name enrolled in the voters' list here.
