Herbs is the mantra for the coming age. Indore and surrounding areas export many herbs and herbal products, profit margin for which is more than 100 per cent. With the demand for exporting herbs and herbal products on the rise, Madhya Pradesh can benefit and take advantage of these plants to develop the state, said Jatan Garg.

The guest lecturer and chairman of Foreign Trade Association of India (FTAI) was speaking on ‘Export-Import: What, Where and How?’ at the M B Khalsa College in Indore recently.

Moreover, government agencies like Foreign Trade Development Association of India, Indo-Overseas Chamber of Commerce, SOPA etc. are promoting herbal exports in a big way, Garg added.

“India, particularly Madhya Pradesh, is known for export of herbs, herbal products, bakery products and leather products to USA, Germany, Japan and France,” Garg told students of MBA (IB), BBA (FT) and B Com (FT). In all 21 documents, including Letter of Credit and Certificate of Origin, are needed for smooth export procedure, he added. Aparajita Rana conducted the programme and Gayatri Gupta welcomed the guests and proposed the vote of thanks.
