THE STATE Government today said that status quo would be maintained at Bajhera-Khurd village in Ghaziabad, where the VP Singh and Raj Babbar-led Jan Morcha has given the call for Dadri March on August 17. There are indications that Dadri March would be banned and no rally/demonstration would be allowed at the site of Reliance Energy’s proposed power project. Principal secretary (Home) Satish Kumar Agarwal and DGP Bua Singh told reporters that the government was determined to maintain status quo at the project site.

Besides asking the State Government to ensure security of the site of proposed power project, the Allahabad High Court had also issued directives to ensure that status quo, Agarwal said. He said that the State Government had acquired land at a price negotiated between the farmers and the Reliance Energy.
