A HEAVY dust storm coupled with moderate rainfall brought respite to the citizens from the scorching heat here on Friday evening. Reports said that several electricity poles and trees were uprooted in different areas across the district.

A HEAVY dust storm coupled with moderate rainfall brought respite to the citizens from the scorching heat here on Friday evening. Reports said that several electricity poles and trees were uprooted in different areas across the district.

The meteorology department said that the winds were blowing at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour. Moderate rainfall brought down the maximum temperature by over two degree Celsius. Maximum day temperature was recorded 39.6 degree Celsius while the minimum day temperature was recorded 22.7 degree Celsius. Humidity was recorded 76 per cent on Friday.

The maximum day temperature was recorded 41.8 degree Celsius on Thursday and the minimum temperature was recorded 23.1 degree Celsius. Humidity was recorded 80 per cent on Thursday.
