Strict action against Maoists: Patnaik

Following a series of attacks by Maoists in Orissa on Thursday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has promised to take strict action against them. The rebels blew up at least four government buildings, including an abandoned police station, a camp of the central reserve police force, a community centre and the office of CITU, a labour organisation in the village.

The attacks were carried out during a 24-hour shutdown called by Maoists demanding the release of 30 cadres, who had been arrested earlier.
