Strict police vigil in City

APART FROM the communally sensitive areas, police kept guard at City?s entry points where pickets were installed to regulate entry. Though this system was in force for past three days, special vigil was maintained since last night to prevent any untoward incident as tension mounted at Dhar in view of Basant Panchami celebrations today.

APART FROM the communally sensitive areas, police kept guard at City’s entry points where pickets were installed to regulate entry. Though this system was in force for past three days, special vigil was maintained since last night to prevent any untoward incident as tension mounted at Dhar in view of Basant Panchami celebrations today.

Even as a large number of vehicles and force was dispatched to Dhar early this morning, about 20 constables led by Juni Indore TI and CSP Padma Vilochan Shukla maintained vigil at Karbala Maidan between 6 am till midnight.

SAF recruits and half a dozen police vehicles were parked along Karbala Maidan where preparations are underway to hold three-day Moharram fair next week.

All public places including railway station, Sarvate and Gangwal bus stands, hotels, restaurants, roadside joints and dhabas were under police vigil. No untoward incident was reported till filing of this report.

About 500 constables, traffic DSPs Devendra Patidar, Vijay David, Mhow Additional Superintendent of Police R D Khare, DSP (crime) Anil Mishra, DSP (headquarters) Manoj Shrivastav along with seven police vehicles are already in Dhar.
