Khushboo, a resident of Mayapuri in north-west Delhi, jumped off the multi-storey CBSE building situated in Preet Vihar in east Delhi at around 1 pm and died on the spot, police said.

A suicide note left by the 18-year-old, who leapt off the ninth floor of the building, said she was committing suicide because of her repeated failure in class 10th examinations, they said.

She also blamed the system of examination as anomalous and said the duration of the paper was not enough.

An asthmatic, she had failed thrice in the class 10th examinations and had gone to the CBSE building to buy some forms. She has five sisters and three brothers and her father is an employee of a government printing press.

In another incident in north-east Delhi, a 45-year-old Ayurvedic doctor hanged himself to death apparently because of serious differences with his wife over his alleged drinking problem.

Umenderpal Singh Thomar, who runs an Ayurvedic clinic, was found from the ceiling of his room in Ashok Nagar area on Thursday morning.

He is survived by his wife and two sons, one of whom was physically handicapped.
