Sathyamurthy came to the collectorate around noon on Saturday and started shouting slogans against Sri Lankan army and Tamil Nadu and Central governments, police sources said.

Suddenly he took out a can containing petrol and tried to pour it on himself. However, the police personnel guarding the collectorate rushed to the spot and caught the youth, they said.
