The mysterious death of a student in Kurukshetra triggered protests in Faridabad on Sunday, bringing normal life to halt. The authorities were forced to call the Government Railway Police (GRP) from Kurukshetra and asked them to get a fresh autopsy conducted.

Govind Singh, 20, of Dabua colony in Faridabad, died after he met with a train accident in Kurukshetra on Saturday. The GRP informed his family about the death. His family was shocked to see Govind’s head hanging with his body. “The post-mortem report said he died due to an accident, but we feel he was murdered and his body thrown on the track,” said Gajinder, his neighbour.

His family members protested with his body on the busy Pyali chowk in Faridabad in early hours of Sunday.
