Students demonstrate at UPPSC office

STUDENTS STAGED a demonstration at the UP Public Service Commission (UPPSC) office and held a meeting with the UPPSC chairman here on Thursday. The protesting students demanded that the answer key of PCS preliminary examinations be provided to the candidates immediately after the examinations. They also sought announcement of PCS preliminary examinations results.

STUDENTS STAGED a demonstration at the UP Public Service Commission (UPPSC) office and held a meeting with the UPPSC chairman here on Thursday. The protesting students demanded that the answer key of PCS preliminary examinations be provided to the candidates immediately after the examinations.

They also sought announcement of PCS preliminary examinations results.
Their other demand included recruitment of lectures at government intermediate and degree colleges through examination and interview.

Allahabad University (AU) student leader Rajesh Singh, AU student union general secretary Suresh Yadav, Mohit Patel, Vijay Dwivedi, Pawan Singh, Gyanendra Pratap Singh and Abhishek Singh led the students during the protest.

Rajesh Singh claimed in a communiqué that UPPSC chairman had accepted their demands related to PCS (pre) examinations. Those present in the meeting included Rajesh Singh, Suresh Yadav, Harsh Sachan, Amresh Yadav, Prakash Chandra Gautam, besides UPPSC chairman Dr Ram Sewak Yadav, UPPSC examination controller BB Singh and Pawan Kumar.

AU students protest eve-teasing: AU students held a meeting at AUU hall against growing incidents of misbheaviour with girls and eve-teasing on the varsity campus. Student leader Abhishek Shukla presided over the meeting while Ziya Quanain Rizvi conducted the proceedings.

Addressing the students, Shukla said the AU campus had become insecure for girls and the incidents of eve-teasing and misbehaviour had increased to a considerable extent. He said the students would not tolerate such acts which disturbed the academic atmosphere of the varsity. He demanded stern action against the culprits who snapped photographs of girl students of the varsity.

Rizvi said such incidents had tarnished the sanctity of the varsity and should be checked. Sunil Dwivedi said that the students would fight against such elements and ensure that such incidents were not repeated.

Those present on the occasion included Irshad Ullah, Abhay Mishra, Ashish Pandey, Babul Singh, Anand Singh, Shiwam Shukla, Diwakar Shukla and Girish Mishra among others.

ISDC protest: Iswar Saran Degree College (ISDC) student union president Vishal Shukla continued the relay fast on the 53-day on Thursday against irregularities and corruption in the college. The students and office-bearers of the students union recited Vande Mataram at the union hall. They also took out a procession on the campus on the occasion of centenary year of Vande Mataram.

The students expressed their anguish and locked up the college employees who failed to recite Vande Mataram. They were released after the office-superintendent intervened into the matter.
