Ever since the Lyngdoh committee recommendations came into force, the Samajwadi Party student leaders had been running from pillar to post in get some relief. They also met Akhilesh Yadav in this connection.

Around 11 am on Monday, prominent student leaders flanked by their supporters took the round of the campus shouting slogans against Lyngdoh committee recommendations and its acceptance by the SC. Irate leaders even forced closure of various classes at Arts and Commerce faculty. Some amongst them resorted to Gandhigiri to gain media attention.
