Acting legend Suchitra Sen has been admitted here since December 23 and her health has been fluctuating ever since.

Curious crowds started gathered in front of the hospital for a health update on Sen and also to catch a glimpse of her family — daughter Moon Moon Sen and granddaughters Raima and Riya.

Sen continued to be in a critical condition, surviving on oxygen support and intravenous feeding, doctors attending on her said.

But why the sudden police arrangement? “Police was deployed to keep off the crowds and facilitate VIP movement within the hospital if necessary,” said a senior police officer.

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and state Congress president Pradip Bhattacharya dropped by to check on Sen on Sunday.
