PEOPLE’S FAITH in religion has strengthened in the era of terrorism, destruction and disintegration of the families and society. It is an indication of broad change in the society and our spiritual theorists had predicted it a century earlier. This was stated here by Rashtriya Swamsewak Sangh (RSS) chief KC Sudarshan. He claimed that India would emerge as a powerful nation in the coming five years.

Delivering his views at the convocation hall in DDU Gorakhpur University, Sudarshan predicted that coming two - three years would bring a lot of changes and expressed apprehension that third World War might start soon between Christianity and Islam. Only Hinduism and Hindu culture would survive after the third World War, he said. He exhorted the Hindu community to adopt tolerance and check casteism.
Sudarshan said the caste system had weakened our social status and social harmony was the need of the hour. He quoted Dr Hedgewar, who, he said, not only took part in the freedom movement but also stressed on unity and harmony in the Hindu society.
Sudarshan observed that with the objective to divide the society, British ruler included the history of invaders in the syllabus instead of the true history of India.
Lashing out at the policies of the US, Sudarshan said even today for vested business interests, US forces were trying to divide India and weaken it. He quoted various instances and alleged that Congress always tried to appease Muslims who promoted separatist forces. In 1940 they raised their demand for division of India.
The RSS chief said 99 per cent Muslims and Christian in the country were of Indian origin. They had changed their style of praying and RSS had not objection to it as the Sangh believed that God was one and there were various ways of praying.
He also threw light on life and sacrifices of Sadashivrao Govalker Guruji. Prof Ram Achal Singh, Prithviraj Singh, Prof UP Singh and Prof Radhemohan Mishra were present on this occasion.
He also addressed a programme at Vishwa Samwad Kendra and appealed to the saints and religious minded folk to go to the people and organise programme for strengthening social harmony in the Hindu community.
