JOINING HANDS with Wipro Infotech as its partner, Sun Microsystems India announced the launch of its operations in Bhopal on Wednesday.
Gearing up for the next phase in its market growth and expansion plans in the country, Sun Microsystems has now turned its attention to class B & C cities and towns.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, general manager (Marketing), Sun Microsystems India, Arnab Roy said the IT computer market of Bhopal stands at Rs 200 crore and the company wants to explore opportunities, with Wipro as our partner. He said the company has adopted a business model of working in partnership with key Indian partners to deliver all products and services such as hardware platforms, services etc to our clients in the field of telecom, banking & finance, power & energy and government sector.
“SME sector is a key focus area for us & we have two specialised products for the segment, and X-64 servers could cater to the needs,” Roy said adding, “The company’s year-to-year growth has been 53 per cent.
Wipro Infotech, which is actively engaged with several projects of the State Government in end-to-end implementation of
hardware, software and network development, would be working with Sun.
“We are very optimistic about the partnership and are certain that a strong brand name like Sun, with superior technology, product and services, would help us rapidly increase our footprints in the region,” Wipro regional business head Sreekanth K said.
Wipro has the experience to develop and deliver sales, implementation and inputs, which would be an advantage in the partnership deal, he added.
