Bengal's South 24-Parganas district, security agencies on Tuesday rounded up a man for loitering suspiciously in front of the domestic terminal of NSC Bose International Airport.

Police sources said Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel on guard spotted the man, who gave his name as Pardip Sarkar, loitering near the entrance of the domestic terminal around 10 am.

CISF personnel arrested the person after he failed to reply satisfactorily to questions asked by them. A bag containing Rs 6 lakh was found from him.

The man was later handed over to the airport police who said that the person did not have any airline ticket.

"We are trying to ascertain where he had come from, where he was going and why he was loitering at the airport," police sources said.

The police said that the man's possible links with the ISI agents arrested from Hingalgunj were also being looked into.

The airport has been put on high alert in the wake of plot to blow up flights in London, which was foiled, and also the Independence Day celebrations. The Central Industrial Security Force is supervising the security arrangement.

Additional CISF and state police personnel have been deployed, while the runways and Air Traffic Control have been kept under close watch.
